- Garry W. Tallent - Southern man, my lovely friend, (bas)s player, rock 'n' roll aficionado, whose quiet and dignity graced my band and my life.
- Max Weinberg - Mighty Max (...) found a place where Bernard Purdie, Buddy Rich, and Keith Moon intersected and he made it his own. I ask and he delivers for me night after night.
- Steve Van Zandt (He's a lifetime rock 'n' roll friendship. We did it all, you know. Great songwriter, producer, great guitarrist.
