  • W porównaniu z albumem "The Essential Bruce Springsteen" z 2003 roku, jest to wydanie dwu, a nie trzypłytowe. W wydaniu z 2015 r. zrezygnowano z trzeciej bonusowej płyty z rzadkimi nagraniami.
  • Wydanie z 2003 r. na obu "podstawowych" płytach zawierało łącznie 30 utworów (2 x 15), a wydanie z 2015 zawiera 37 utworów (18 i 19).
  • Na uaktualnionym wydaniu pojawiły się utwory z płyt Bruce’a Springsteena, które ukazały się już po wydaniu pierwszego The Essential…: Devils and Dust, Magic, Working On A Dream, Wrecking Ball i High Hopes.
